Super Saturday

What a day! Full of great moments, surprises, impressive feats, and more....

One of the biggest moments today.... Corbin said "STOP, BOBO!" when his dad was pestering him. This may not seem like much, but with Corbin's severe speech impairment it was a big accomplishment. He said it very clearly and pronounced the 'B' sound which is very very difficult for him. The program at school is helping and he has been playing a computer game that is really helping too.
Cavan changed his own pull-up this afternoon. I was napping and Carl laid him down for a nap. I guess he pooped and decided to change it himself. It was quite impressive although messy/stinky. He even tried to wipe himself and put a swim diaper on... then went to sleep.
We went shopping again at our new favorite store....HOME DEPOT. Bought a few tiles to test out if they would work... great choices on my part. We'll probably stop by there tomorrow and buy the amount needed before they sell out (and they are on sale). A fairly dark brown for the downstairs bathroom and dark gray for the kitchen/utility. Still working on finding tile for other rooms.
We also bought a carpet cleaner.... Bissell Proheat 2X. It's a winner. It's amazing how clean it is getting our carpets and believe me they were nasty. Almost as if the people never vacuumed. Carl has been cleaning carpet all afternoon (he wanted to). He is very impressed with it. Anyways... if you are looking to buy a carpet cleaner get this one. Better than paying someone to do it and cheaper.

Anyways... a good day. I even got a nap! I like it when Carl is home.

All I Want for Christmas...

is a babysitter. You wouldn't think that would be much of a request, but as my lot in life goes... it is! Every time we finally find a babysitter someone ends up sick and we have to cancel. Or the babysitter ended up having plans that night after all. Apparently it is my lot in life to never get a real break from the kids. Grocery shopping does not count!
I know a vacation is way out of reach, so all I ask is for a babysitter for one night. One measly night of a reprieve is all I ask. How difficult could it be?!
We thought we had a babysitter for Carl's work party, but everyone seems to have a party that night. Carl's work wants to pay for us to go to a nice restaurant, but that would require a babysitter!
YES.. i'm whining. But you try going no telling how long without reprieve or how about this... try not having a restful night's sleep in over 11 years (since July 1996). Naps don't count. I've given up on asking for that one.

I need a SHOT of something!

What a morning! First of all... my sons were kind enough to get me up by 0500 this morning. I took Corbin to school at 0945 and had to pull him out of school at 1045! Here's the story and background....

As a former military family, we had beautiful military shot records. Unfortunately, our civilian pediatrician did not like how they were written so he transferred them to his own vaccination form. Well... he missed one!

Friday I turned in the enrollment paperwork for him to start school on Monday. The registrar was not there and apparently no one else knows how to check to make sure I turned in the required paperwork. She called today and informed me the shot records, social security card and birth certificate were missing. So I took what I had (the civilian doctor's shot record) up to the office. The school nurse made me drag Corbin out of class because he was missing a shot.

HMMM...

Needless to say I am not in a good mood today. Did I mention Cavan was at foot screaming?!

I tried to get the Pediatricians Office to fax a corrected copy to the school. It took 3 calls to the doctor's office to get a nurse to talk to me and then she wouldn't fax the records to the school. Thanks HIPPA!

So now when Cavan gets up from his nap, I have to drag both boys back to the school and try to get it all fixed! I'm NOT looking forward to that trip. I would be happy if I never had to step foot in that school again. I will be looking for a new pediatrician... one that is closer!

And, yes, I have a temper! So no lectures welcomed! I'm just venting!

A New School

Today was Corbin's first day at his new school. He did great according to his teacher. He would really like to ride the school bus, so I'm going to try to make arrangements this week for that. He goes mid-morning to early afternoon... different from his old school, but it worked out nicely.
Cavan laid down for a nap when we got home and slept just over 3 hours... I had to get him up to eat before picking up Corbin. I was able to get a little work done. Still trying to get reorganized and figure out what needs to be done. Trying to make my lists and prioritize.
Carl is in Florida this week at the Kennedy Space Center and staying on Coco Beach. Must be nice! I'm staying home with my screaming, unruly children. Yeah! We are hoping I'll be able to go with him eventually on a trip. WITHOUT the kids!
Carl has a pretty good job. His boss told Carl to take me somewhere nice to eat and they would pay for it. How many employers do that?! Now we just have to find a babysitter. It seems that almost every time we schedule one, someone ends up sick and we have to cancel... frustrating!
Oh well...
I better get going. Dishes are waiting!

We now have a home.

We are finally in our first home. In, but not settled by any means! It's very overwhelming all around. Sometimes hard to get motivated to do what needs to be done. We really got lucky today. The house really needed new blinds. Either the blinds were broken, barely worked, or missing all together. I happened to check the Big Lots flyer.... blinds on sale. 2"faux blinds. They only had a size close to 3 of our windows... Carl is going to have to trim an inch or two, but worth the hassle for the price. Then JCPenney's has 2" faux blinds on sale, so I went a picked up several. Then one of my new favorites... overstock.com ..... had bamboo roman shades cheap for my dining room windows! YEAH.... privacy!

Carl is working on getting my office doors fixed... needed locks to keep the boys out.
Still have lots of unpacking, sorting, organizing, etc.
Some painting left to do. Dining Room, Master Bath, Guest Room, and Entry/Hall areas.
We really need some new flooring (in the kitchen especially). Need a new window in the play room. Need a few doors.

Neverending it seems.

well... i guess i better get to work! or maybe just to bed!!!!

Aunt Gin... Hero of the Day!

We started painting the dining room on Wednesday. Caramelized Orange. It was awful, the paint was splotchy... horrible! So we gave it a night and then yesterday we attempted it again, thinking a second coat would take care of it... no such luck.
My wonderful Aunt Gin wallpapers and paints professionally so we gave her a call. It all came down to a paint roller. She recommended the kind where the handle is in the middle. The pressure on the roller is distributed more evenly and your wrist and arm doesn't hurt as much. We painted the office and kitchen with one coat! So tomorrow we will try to tackle the dining room again to see if the new roller will get an even coat otherwise I will be learning to wallpaper.

THANKS Aunt Gin!!!

Family to the Rescue

You do not even want to see the list of things to do today. I don't even want to see the list.
But today... help is on the way! My wonderful parents are coming today through Sunday to help us get done and ready to move into the new house.
We WILL finish cleaning and prepping the house for painting today. We WILL finish all the repairs today that have to be done prior to painting. We WILL start painting tomorrow.

Wish us luck!

Today's accomplishments...

Well... we didn't quite get everything done we hoped, but we didn't start until two days later than originally planned. There's too much to do to catch up, so hopefully we will get all the initial stuff done tomorrow so we can start painting on Thursday. Having the boys around does not help either. Mom and Dad are coming tomorrow to help, so we will rotate babysitting shifts.
The fire ants are almost dead. The 2 ceiling fans were installed. The toilet fixed. The shower is more of a job than originally thought... it should get done tomorrow. Carl is still at the house working on patching holes. It's quite a job, especially when you want it done right. The previous owner must have had quite the temper. They tried to patch some holes, but did a horrible job. So we have to patch and re-patch holes.
So much cleaning... it's not just spray and wipe... it's scrubbing! Obviously they didn't care about the condition they lived in. Some of it is pretty disgusting. There's not just a little bit of dust... it's caked on dust. YUCK! I have to get on hands and knees to scrub the base boards... our backs are hurting.

just another day.

Today's work schedule....YIKES

A new day and more work to do. We had to split up shifts because of Corbin's school schedule, so Carl went to work on the house already this morning and I'll go this afternoon with the boys. Here is a "short" list of things to do today:

  1. Kill Fire Ants.
  2. Fix a toilet.
  3. Fix a shower.
  4. Repair the playscape (exposed nails)
  5. Patch holes in walls/ceilings.
  6. Install 2 ceiling fans.
  7. Remove all face plates, etc to prep for painting.
  8. CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN (that should take up 4 or 5 lines of the list)
I'm sure there's more, but I'm already brain dead at this point.
I guess we'll see how it goes.

We know once we get through the initial stuff, the house will be much improved and it will be worth the hard work. At least it's a house we can stay in long term. It has room to grow.

This next year I need to replace all the linoleum and some carpeted areas with tile. I will also look into new window treatments. We will be doing lots of landscaping and plant a garden.

Eventually we will install new carpet upstairs and put laminate floors downstairs. We also want to cover the deck. The kitchen will need new counter tops eventually. We would like to make the master bathroom a little bigger and replace the tub with a large shower. I would like to replace the patio sliding door with french doors. Lots to do... eventually.

Anyways... guess I better go supervise Cavan... he's a handful himself!

STOP Bobo!

A quick background for those of you not familiar with Diego. In the cartoon series, the Bobo brothers are two monkeys that are always causing trouble. So Diego tells the kids to say "stop bobo!" several times.
So..... Carl really likes to pester the kids. Cavan was eating lunch today and, of course, Carl had to find some way to pester a captive Cavan. Cavan then proceeded to tell Carl, "STOP BOBO!" Holding his hand out for the stop sign. It was really cute and unexpected, so we've been telling Carl today, "Stop, bobo!"

what did we get ourselves into?

we started working on the new house today. overwhelming.... where to start?! we had electricity, but no water until tomorrow. we installed one ceiling fan, need to install 2 more. removed cabinet doors... discovered hidden trash. fighting the fire ants... there is a huge colony under the wood deck, so carl ripped up a few boards and poured poison on their mound. it will take a good week to get them all. will have to pull up more of the deck.
met a neighbor and her son... she lives a few houses down.
cavan fell down the stairs...no injury thank goodness. not sure he learned his lesson though.
i guess i better go... we're off to home depot AGAIN!!!

ugh...what did we get ourselves into?!!

almost there...

We finally signed the papers today on our new house....but WAMU (the seller) won't sign until Monday. I hope it's no later than Monday. At least we're getting there. So this weekend we will be busy drafting a tentative game plan, doing some more packing, and cleaning. We are all looking forward to having our own home. Mom and Dad are even giving us a house-warming gift... his name is Rhody. His part lab and part rhodesian ridgeback. They inherited him when they bought their house, so they thought they would make it a family tradition I guess. No... we've really been wanting a dog. The folks still have our "old" dog Bandit, but with his health issues it's better he stays where he is. Rhody seems to have a great temperament and would be a good dog for the boys. Needs a little training, but nothing we haven't conquered before. We actually bought a doggy bed today at big lots and some bones and doggy toys and bowls. Now we just need a dog house and food, etc.... Maybe we'll bring him home in December. We have to get rid of some fire ants first.

Anyways.... it will be a busy few weeks, so keep us in your prayers.

Happy Halloween!

Well, Cavan had a cold this Halloween so we celebrated at home. But they had fun. Cavan was a dinosaur (looked more like a dragon to me). Corbin was a ninja. He should have been a dragon slayer. Don't worry... they didn't miss out on candy. They knocked on my door and got candy after saying "trick or treat". They loved it! Corbin is actually sleeping with his ninja sword. We are going to leave the costumes out for them to play dress up with.

Pumpkins!

Say CHEESE!

This was the day to mow the yard and get things done around the house. While out front, I noticed a neighbor was having a garage sale. It didn't look like they were getting much business, so I decided just to go look and say hi. Once there I discovered a dream buy. I quickly returned to our house and retrieved Carl. The neighbor was selling OLD cameras and leather camera cases that had belonged to her aunt. There was film from 1965. We got it all for $26. 4 Cameras and 3 cases plus the old film! We felt bad for getting such a steal, but we were "cheesing" all the way home!

Choices, Choices, Choices.....

TOO many decisions to make... YIKES!
We are supposed to close on a foreclosure on Thursday. It needs a thorough cleaning, some minor repairs and, most of all, paint and updating! I've always enjoyed dreaming up room designs (doesn't mean I'm good at it), but now that I have to make an actual decision that has to last an extended amount of time.... I'm in trouble! Overwhelmed to say the least.
I thought I had decided on paint colors, then I went to look for drapes or something for the patio door. I found one I like, but have to decide on a color.... than I have to make sure it matches the wall color otherwise I have to change the wall color. Needless to say...Carl is not much help. He says, "Whatever you want, Honey!" Typical male response.
Pretty soon I'll have to pick out tile and laminate floors and carpet colors/type. Carl's already asking me what I want for landscaping in the front yard! I'm exhausted just thinking about it all. Carl says his knee starts hurting just thinking about all the work we have to do prior to moving in.
I just try to remind myself that it will be worth it. We are getting a good deal and it's a house we plan to stay in long term. We are sooo ready to be "officially" settled and be able to do whatever we want to the house. Carl's mostly looking forward to fishing in the local lake down the street.
I guess I need to put a fishing license on his Christmas list.

Darth Vader or a Fireman?

I picked up Corbin from school yesterday and he was telling me (as much as he can) about his field trip. He proceeded to cup his hand over his mouth and make breathing sounds. Was he imitating Darth Vader? NO... it was the gas mask a fireman wears.
They went to the local firestation for a class trip. The fireman put on the full gear for them to see.
It was just amazing how Corbin was able to develop a "sign" to tell me about the gas mask. I bet he will be really good at charades.... so watch out!

Cavan nabbed his plastic fireman's hat and walked around making siren noises. He's a silly cutie too.

Up and Running... or stumbling?

YIKES! The website is up and running with many more upgrades to come. I got my first order yesterday... sooo exciting! It was actually from one of Carl's bosses. She loved the site and is spreading the word. Some of the excitement fizzled though when I realized I made an error on the personalizing fee. Needless to say... it's fixed but I only made about $2.oo. OH WELL!!! I'm looking at it as a learning curve and it could have been worse.
Anyways... check out my new site www.alangreyfavors.com
We hope to have the credit card processing up by Monday (paypal only for now). Then we will have our "official" launch.

The Chicken Sisters

That is the title of Corbin's first library book. The Chicken Sisters by Laura Numeroff. His class has been going to the library on Thursdays. Yesterday he actually got to check out a book to bring home. We've already read it twice. It's a really cute and kinda funny book. Definitely worth checking out.

House Hunter...

wow... house-hunting can be quite the chore. We thought we had a house... made an offer... no deal.
So we started again yesterday and expanded our search to the next city north. we have 2 possibilities (short-sales). will look on saturday and probably make our offer and pray for the best.

this doesn't come at the best time, but is there really a "best time". maybe it is the best time with the market the way it is. we found a house that is way under market value and when the market improves, it will greatly appreciate. so i'm hoping. it does need a little work, primarily just deep cleaning, paint, and eventually new flooring. we are pretty excited too.

so if it works out... i'll let you know and post pics of our "first" home!

Vacation?!

Okay... I really need a vacation. Maybe this coming May will be just the right time for me. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I thought about New England, but that would be best in the fall. Thought about the Grand Canyon, but I would like to take the boys.

I'm in need of a vacation.... either by myself or with Carl.... NO KIDS!

Maybe an Alaskan Cruise? Thank goodness for modern medicine and the creation of dramamine!

When it rains.... it pours...

and I'm not talking about Hurricane Ike (we'll get hit Saturday?)! Yesterday, Carl got a call that our landlord is wanting to sell the house. He is wanting a bit much for it, so it looks like we will be moving. We are hoping to buy a house and be moved by the end of October. All of this on top of setting up my business.... which is going well.

I have suppliers established and will be looking to launch October 1st.

Alan Grey Favors (www.alangreyfavors.com) will specialize in wedding favors and accessories as well as items for other special events. We are very excited!

I will let you know more in the near future!!!

Weeds...

We not only have weeds in our yard, but officially have "weeds" in our house. Their names are Corbin and Cavan. Corbin is 3 (as of April) and Cavan just turned 2 in August(a week ago). Corbin is only half a head (and he has a very big one) taller than Cavan. We noticed this morning on the way to church that Cavan's 2T pants were ready for any hurricane (the floods). So this afternoon I retired all of our 2T clothes and now the boys share. That means an extra day of laundry for me. Corbin's pants are getting close, but we are going to try to hold off until after Christmas. Guess what will be on our list this year!! It's not like we can buy cheap pants at walmart or target...no... our boys have to be difficult.... we have to get pants with adjustable waists! We love Old Navy!!

Medical Debt

As some of you know, my father-in-law recently had a triple bypass. His family is not wealthy by any means and is facing major medical debt. I just happened to catch a morning show talking about medical debt. Anyone needing help can click the title "medical debt" and it will take you to a website that may be able to provide assistance.

2 down and much more to go....

Cavan is now 2 years old. We had a mini party at our house. Cupcakes, ice cream, and lots of coffee. My parents came, as well as Richard, April, and Ruby. We played Phase 10.... dad beat us all. We took a nice long walk around the neighborhood. I wanted to go to the dinosaur park, but they were having holiday events and closed down several streets. Parking pretty much non-existent. oh well. The kids had fun playing together. Cavan got a new tricycle and play-doh, etc....
2 down....hopefully no more than 16 to go (in the house anyways)....

Garden update

Well, our squash and zucchini seem to be doing good. Our eggplant and tomatoes stopped at a sprout. Mom gave us some herbs and a passion flower plant. Carl wanted more oregano, so we went to home depot and walmart. We got oregano.... plus green pepper, red pepper, eggplant, tomatoes, and some flowers that were on sale. I'll try to get some pics soon.

School Sweet School

Corbin started back to school on Tuesday. He loves it and was very excited! I was looking forward to the break, but haven't been able to take advantage of it yet. We have been soooo busy.... Cavan's birthday party is Saturday, so lots of preparations to do. Made my menu today..... my parents are on the South Beach Diet and sister-in-law does not eat red meat. But I love them dearly!
anyways.... maybe next week I'll actually get a break...yeah right.....too much business stuff to do!

home sweet home

We are soooo glad to be home. Carl's brother, Matt, go married Saturday in Oklahoma. It was a long trip and weekend. There is no rest when sharing a hotel room with a 3 and nearly 2 year old. We had to change rooms the second day.... the a/c quit working! It wasn't super hot, but it was really humid..... an outdoor wedding. It seems like the past few weddings I have been to I become the wedding coordinator. Carl says I should do it professionally.... at least I would get paid for it! My feet hurt for about 3 days as well as my arm (had to lug Cavan around while coordinating). I will not attend another wedding with kids unless they are in it!!
We had a good visit with our dear friends in Ada. It's so nice seeing them, but we're still not moving back there anytime soon (if ever). Anyways.... it was sooo nice to be home and back in my own bed!

Hoses and Cars... an equation for disaster?!

This morning Carl was leaving for work when he had a little snag. Apparently the water hose wrapped around the rear axle of the truck (a fluke or someone's sick joke?). It broke the outside faucet and we had a near disaster. It took the water people an hour to come turn off the water. Carl was having trouble getting it turned off... apparently he was turning the pressure knob instead of the emergency shut off. OOPS!
Thank goodness Carl is quite the handyman. He went to Home Depot and was able to repair the problem.
I guess the hose will have to stay in the garage from now on!

2024 Olympics... here we come...

Be prepared to see Cavan in the 2024 Summer Olympics' Gymnastics. Last night he learned to do flips on by himself. I was quite impressed (even though it doesn't take much nowadays).

Who needs a dog....

We've really been wanting a dog, but our pet deposit is a little ridiculous.... so we're waiting. But then this week... I decided.... who needs a dog when we've got Cavan?! He fetches balls, he licks you, he even wags his tushie and drools. Oh yah.... he even pees on the carpet.

Pockets

Cavan loves pockets. He walks around with his hands in his pockets. If his hands are not in his pockets, a toy is. If he doesn't have a pocket.... he borrows mine.
I better start checking pockets before washing clothes. I already have to check the hamper. The boys hid a diaper in the hamper... what a mess!!! I had to vacuum out the washer and rewash the laundry a couple times to get rid of the diaper filling. Believe me... you won't let that happen more than once!!!

School Love

Corbin loves school. He starts back later this month. He is in a developmental preschool for special needs kids. We can see the school from our front yard and drive by or walk by it regularly. He always points it out, but now he even blows kisses and tell it he loves it. "love you". I have to note it, because i don't imagine he'll feel the same way 12 years from now.

Alan Grey Ventures LLC

I previously noted that we were in the process of starting an online business. Well we have our official company name..... Alan Grey Ventures LLC. There's no turning back! Success....here we come! We plan to launch our website mid/late September. So save some Christmas shopping until then. We haven't settled on a product line yet.... doing market research. So stay tuned.

If curious about the name... it's the boys middle names. Corbin Alan and Cavan Grey.

Wag your tongue

Today, Cavan and I played a silly little game of "wag your tongue". Stick out your tongue and shake your head back and forth while make silly sounds. Cavan is especially good at it..... slinging saliva as he wags. That boy! He is definitely a little clown.

NOOMA

I just wanted to recommend to all out there the NOOMA videos by Rob Bell. We have been watching them in our Sunday morning Bible class. We use them for discussions and to bring a different point of view to various topics. They are viewed to be more for younger people, but the elder members in our class are really enjoying them as well. If you are looking for something for your Bible class that will spark more discussion.... this is the way to go! Just click on the link above to go to the website.

New beginnings...

There are new beginnings everywhere! Our Garden to-go is already sprouting... very exciting. We are also starting new beginnings with our lives. Embarking on a business venture that will provide us financial freedom. We are trying hard to look at things through a new light and change to only positive thinking.
My friend Heather and her husband Geoff will be adopting a new baby boy soon! They are adding a new life to their family. We are soooo excited for them and pray all goes well! It will go well. They are such wonderful parents to little Ella and the baby boy will be sooooo lucky to have them as parents.
According to the news... the past year was the U.S.'s biggest baby boom. All those new beginnings! I'm not suggesting going out and having a baby, but everyone can have a new beginning. Just grab hold and make the changes necessary.

To help us with ours... we are reading "Retire Young, Retire Rich" by Robert Kiyosaki and we watched the DVD "The Secret". We are looking forward to a more fulfilling life and a better mind-set.

Shake that tushie...

This morning Corbin located his Sesame Street MP3 Player. The boys began dancing to Elmo's hip hop version of BINGO. Cavan was really getting into it and even tried to spell BINGO . They are the best dancers. You should have seen them when Dancing with the Stars was on.... so much fun!

We hope to get them into a dance/gymnastics class sometime this next year.

Drama King!

Once upon a time there was a little boy named Corbin. He was quite the story teller. In very dramatic fashion, he proceeded to tell a story about a reindeer attacking a rabbit and then running away. Then there were three fish that were quacking like ducks.

That was the scene yesterday when Corbin brought me a book. He recreated the story. Yes, he has a severe speech delay, but he always finds a way to communicate. He has great facial expressions and sounds. He even acts things out and uses his sign language. It was sooo cute and funny!

I wish I could have gotten it on video, but you know as soon as you turn on the camera it all comes to a screeching stop. Oh well.

Monday, July 21, 2008

Here are the boys on their playscape.

STOP!

Corbin has become our human stop sign. Maybe he'll be a professional crossing guard when he grows up. When we cross the street to enter a store, he holds out his hand and tells cars to stop. He has even gone as far as to tell a lady to stop when she was coming out of an isle in the store. It's really cute (at least for now).
We also have to stop and go as he orders with the cart. Sometimes it can almost cause an accident in the store. If you see us..... steer clear!

Big Shoe, Little Shoe.....Oops!

Cavan seems to have a thing for shoes. Quite regularly you can find him trying on our shoes and walking around in them. This morning he got a hold of Corbin's sandals. He was able to get one on even though it was the wrong foot....Oops! Corbin was kind enough to correct the situation and get both shoes on his feet. As I stated that Cavan's feet were almost big enough for Corbin's sandals... Corbin quickly corrected me and let me know that Cavan's feet were small.

Give me a sign

Sign Language! What a life-saver (sanity-saver?)! Everywhere we go, people are shocked when our boys, especially Corbin, start signing to us. For those who do not know, Corbin has a severe speech delay. During the school year, he attends developmental preschool at the local elementary school. He receives speech therapy 3 days/week. There is some improvement, but it has been very frustrating for us all. But he is sooooo smart! He has learned several signs and he even develops signs to tell us what he wants. I ask him if he has a sign for what he wants and he usually comes up with something. Cavan uses some signs, but not like Corbin does.

I highly recommend sign language for all babies/kids/adults. There are lots of videos and books now for baby sign language.

Garden to go

This weekend we decided to put in a garden from scratch. We bought weed stopper, landscape timbers, soil, seeds, etc.... I thought Carl had plotted it all out and we were good to go. It became more of a dirty project than we both expected. In the end, we bought some pots and now just have a garden in pots. Tomatoes, Zucchini, Squash, Eggplant. I guess we'll see how it turns out. It's probably better we did it in pots.... we can take it with us when we buy a house.

We bought chicken wire to keep out the rabbits and other critters. We have toads that love to roam our yard and driveway. Too bad we don't have butterflies. Corbin loves butterflies. His Oma and Papa have lots of butterflies in their flower garden. I can't even keep flowers alive.

what's in a name?

Welcome to my blog!
It wasn't easy coming up with a name, especially one that is somewhat creative. My sister has a blog, the coloring book, but she is a creative person and it works for her. Looking around my desk I see lots of sticky notes.... that's more me. Not so creative. I like to make lists, post reminders, jot down little notes everywhere. My husband is a techie (geek) and I think it drives him crazy that I don't just put everything on a PDA. I guess I'm just strange that way. Of course the funny thing about that is, I have to put up a sticky note to remind my husband to grab his PDA on the way out the door. He has a blog: http://ubergeekaustx.blogspot.com/

Anyways... this blog will not be the most inspirational and poetic blog out there. It's just about the little the things going on in the life of a stay-at-home mom. Each post is like a Sticky Note.

About Me

My photo
I'm a stay-at-home mom of 2 of the cutest boys ever. Corbin and Cavan. I have the best and most talented husband.
